About Gemeente Harderwijk

Harderwijk is an accessible and hospitable municipality with more than 45,000 inhabitants. A complete, versatile municipality with a unique combination of water, nature and culture. The municipality offers peace and space. But numerous activities and events in the field of entertainment and sports are also organized. In Harderwijk we are jointly building the future with promising construction and development projects.

At the municipality of Harderwijk, inspiring people work with heart and soul for residents and companies. These are professionals who have chosen a socially involved job in which they have the freedom to shape their ideas and vision. There are flexible working hours and we work with employees to determine how personal wishes and organizational interests can be matched as optimally as possible.

Approximately 250 employees work at the city hall and another 100 employees work spread across the field service, the De Sypel swimming pool and the fire brigade. The organization has short lines of communication, in which employees have a lot of responsibility. Working in a political environment requires the necessary insights and skills. As a government organization, we strive for optimal transparency. We therefore ask our employees to have an open, honest attitude. To colleagues as well as to residents, companies, customers and relations.
