1. Description of the challenge

Background Information:
During the procurement and sales process of flowers and plants, waste is generated in the form of flower and plant residues, packaging materials, and other by-products. FM Group is seeking sustainable ways to minimize these waste streams, improve their separation, recycle them, or develop and find new applications for these residual streams. We are looking for partners who can help us with this, or parties who can turn our waste streams into new products.

About FM Group:
FM Group is a trading company in flowers and plants that purchases products worldwide from thousands of growers and sells them to florists through its own webshop and Cash & Carries located within and outside Europe. We are active in the floriculture sector and are looking for students with an interest in sustainability, logistics, marketing, and business development within the floriculture industry.

2. Expected outcome

To identify and evaluate potential business opportunities for FM Group to repurpose its organic waste into valuable products or services, thereby contributing to a circular economy and reducing environmental impact.

About FM Group

FM Group is a leading platform in the global floriculture sector, actively connecting Preferred Suppliers to florists, wholesalers and mass-markets worldwide.
