The Dutch Postcode Lottery was established in 1989 to support charitable causes. Today, 3 million people in the Netherlands play every year, vying for hundreds of thousands of prizes each month. At the same time, they are supporting around 100 charitable organisations with a minimum of 40% of the price of their lottery ticket. Since the Postcode Lottery was founded, it has donated more than € 6,2 billion to organisations working for humanity and the environment.
In the Netherlands, the Dutch Postcode Lottery works together with the BankGiro Loterij and the VriendenLoterij under the umbrella of the Goede Doelen Loterijen. Novamedia / Goede Doelen Loterijen is the third-largest private donor to charitable causes in the world.
